KEVIN KERSLAKE:

After appearing in a couple Warren Miller films in his early teens, Kevin Kerslake embarked on a path to emulate the actions sports film legend by making Super-8 surf, skate and ski/snowboard films throughout his hormonal years. Graduating from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in film, Kerslake soon became one of a handful of directors responsible for forging the visual identity of the MTV generation, developing a diverse body of work infused with the urgency and kineticism of his earlier pursuits now set within larger themes.

While going on to direct award-winning music videos for Nirvana, Green Day, R.E.M., the Rolling Stones, Rise Against and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, along with commercials for Nike, Puma, Kohler, Compaq, AT&T, Sprite, Coca-Cola and Sony Playstation, Kerslake's forays into longform include network dramas (Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich's Fox sci-fi series The Visitor and the four-hour ABC Family miniseries Fallen), a pair of long-running live concert series for RealNetworks and AOL, and numerous music documentaries, notably Nirvana: Live! Tonight! Sold Out!, Soundgarden's Louder Than Live, and The Ramones: We're Outta Here!

A surf film for Quiksilver and the first of several movies on Insomniac's Electric Daisy Carnival launched a move into client-direct, branded content, chiefly in the realms of core culture. Kerslake has since created several multi-platform, new media campaigns that have been instrumental in advancing or, in some cases, defining the brand identity for VEVO, DC Shoes, Quiksilver, Hard Events, Insomniac Events, and Hyundai.

Recent efforts include directing a dramatic musical series created by punk rock wunderkind Tim Armstrong (Rancid, The Transplants) called Tim Timebomb's ROCKNROLL THEATER, producing and directing the latest theatrical release for Insomniac's long-running film series on EDC entitled The Electric Daisy Carnival Experience, and a documentary on the making of Bob Marley and the Wailers' Legend: Remixed album that was sponsored by Hyundai.

Kerslake is currently in post-production on As I AM: The Life and Times of DJ AM, a theatrical documentary on the mash-up pioneer, DJ AM.
